Hiking the Smokies

Wow, we are all hurting. Our first day was supposed to be 13 miles, but we got a little ambitious and decided to peak on Mt. Cammerer which added about 6 miles to our trip. The views and the sense of accomplishment were definitely worth it. The end of day consisted of some delicious dehydrated dinners and falling asleep before the sun even set. Until I was woken up by Steve and Joe telling me that a bear was coming. I tried to remain cool and told them that bears will come around, but since our food and packs were already hung up in the tree we would be fine. I guess that was good enough for them, but I found out in the morning that neither of them slept well due to the fear a bear ripping their faces off.
