Through the Desert

So the night in Albuquerque was very much like Dallas. We went out for dinner right across the street from U. of New Mexico. The restaurant was an Italian place and had about 20 flat screen HDTV’s so it was a perfect place to have a relaxed meal. We walked around the campus of UNM for a little, then decided to just head back to the hotel. So the night wasn’t a complete loss, we stopped at 7-11 to buy some beer. After finally deciding on a 12-pack of Bud Light we went to the counter to pay. The lady, who was awful, asked for all 3 of our ID’s, not a problem. Then she handed them back to us saying she couldn’t accept them because they would not accept “minor” licenses (anything vertical.) I was not happy about that, so I asked if that was a state law and she said it was. We then went to a circle-K and bought a 12-pack of Coors Light, used our vertical ID’s and had no problem. Back at the hotel we had approximately 1.5 beers each before passing out, it was a big night. Woke up in the morning after a nice long sleep, had my routine 45 minute blow out, and headed out for Flagstaff. The scenery started to become awesome, red rocks all over and cliffs and mountains coming out of the sky. Arriving in Flagstaff, we realized that this was a very cool town. The hostel is very cool and we have our own room, which hopefully means another good night sleep. So far it has been a productive stop: oil change for the car, ate at a Jack in the Box, bought some groceries, and did some laundry. We about to head out of the town for what could be a fun night.
