The Other Canyon

After the adventure in Buckskin it was off to Zion National Park for 3 days. Now opposed to Grand Canyon where you sit on top of canyon looking down, you are in the bottom of a tighter canyon looking at the big walls all around you. Again, the weather was perfect with blue skies and red rock, you couldn't ask for anything better. First night when we camped in the campground, we met a friend. His name was Andy and he was on a 12 day solo road trip from Colorado to Las Vegas. He was from San Francisco so he was pretty helpful on certain areas of the trip we didn't make it to yet. Andy loved to tell us about California. Next day we started our hike. When I said you start in the bottom and look up the canyon, same goes for hiking. The entire first day was nothing but uphill. It was brutal, but since it was only 9 miles it didn't really seem to bad and the views were amazing. Check out the pictures. The peaks were very impressive and the canyons were awesome. We were all beat after the hike, but the evening was perfect. Next day was literally all down hill, not to mention our next destination was Vegas. Vegas baby! We were all pumped about that so that made the 9 miles that took just over 6 hours on day 1, an easy hike that we demolished in 3.5 hours. Off to Vegas, who knows what will go down there, hopefully I will not lose all my money.
